Welcome to Spring!

Welcome to Spring!

Missed the renewal deadline? That’s OK, you can still renew with us for the fall. Stop by the office to see what bed spaces are still available, and enjoy the benefit of our current renewal incentives today!

We’re still running the $250 refer-a-friend special as well as the $150 4×4 fill special if you and your roommates fill an entire four-bedroom apartment. These incentives will also be applied to your September rent. Offers are subject to change, please see office for details.

Special Highlight

We appreciate your cooperation with the quarterly maintenance inspections in March. Know that it is possible maintenance will be making preventative repairs in your units as a result of those inspections.

Maintenance asks that you remember to clean out the lint traps in your dryers after every use and to be mindful of the size of loads in the washer so you don’t overfill. Lastly, if a smoke detector battery needs replacing, please let us know so we can ensure they are in good working order.

Please note that if your trash will not fit in the trash chutes, we ask that you walk to the dumpsters next to the parking deck for disposal. The Depot will be beginning the make-ready process of vacant bedrooms shortly, and we’ll be notifying units appropriately as we need to enter. If you have any questions about this, please let us know.

Continue to submit any work orders that you have for your apartment at The Depot. Our maintenance team wants to assist you quickly with your concerns and works from a preventative approach. Submit your work orders online, or stop in and see us in the leasing office.

Reminders & Updates

Rent is due on the 1st of every month, no matter what day of the week the 1st falls on. Please keep in mind that if you drop a check in the rent dropbox after 5:00 p.m., we won’t receive it until the next day, which may make your payment late. Late fees accrue beginning on the 4th of every month at $35 the first day and $5 every day after. We encourage you to plan ahead and have your payment here well in advance to avoid late fees.

The future resident spaces on S. Broadway Street are for the sole use of prospective Depot residents. If you or your guests are utilizing those spaces incorrectly, the vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense. The same applies in all fire lanes around the building. The fire lanes are not a pick-up and drop-off location, and all vehicles are subject to towing in those locations. Guest parking passes need to be obtained from the office prior to a guest’s arrival, and all guest vehicles need to be parked on the top level of the deck. Unauthorized parking of vehicles in handicapped spaces or parking of your vehicle in a motorcycle space could result in towing.

You are responsible for your guests at all times when they are on the property. They are required to follow all rules and regulations during their stay. Damages of any kind, as well as conduct unbecoming of the community by a guest, will fall to the lease-holding resident. We encourage you to escort your guests at all times and monitor their behavior to avoid lease violations.

The Depot encourages you to work with your roommates to avoid electric overages in your unit. Note that electric charges are posted to your account in the middle of every month. You will receive an email once they have been posted each month. It is your responsibility to log in to your resident portal and identify if overages exist and make payment on your account to avoid late charges.

We have been continuing to work hard to provide you the best possible living experience. Should you have any concerns related to your stay with us, please stop by the leasing office Monday–Friday from 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.–5 p.m., or Sunday from noon–5 p.m. You may also contact us after hours at (234) 738-0080.

Take the It’s On Us Pledge

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and as you may know, Campus Advantage has partnered with the White House to support the It’s On Us campaign to change the culture around sexual violence on college campuses. It’s On Us invites everyone to step up and realize that the solution begins with individuals. It’s a declaration that sexual assault is not only a crime committed by a perpetrator against a victim, but a societal problem in which all of us have a role to play. This pledge is a personal commitment to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault. It is a promise not to be a bystander to the problem, but to be a part of the solution.

Please read and share the following It’s On Us tips:

  1. Talk to your friends honestly and openly about sexual assault.
  2. Don’t just be a bystander — if you see something, intervene in any way you can.
  3. Trust your gut. If something looks like it may be a bad situation, it probably is.
  4. Be direct. Ask someone who looks like they may need help if they’re OK.
  5. Get someone to help you if you see something — enlist a friend, RA, bartender, or host to help step in.
  6. Keep an eye on someone who has had too much to drink.
  7. If you see someone who is too intoxicated to consent, enlist their friends to help them leave safely.
  8. Recognize the potential danger of someone who talks about planning to target another person at a party.
  9. Be aware if someone is deliberately trying to intoxicate, isolate, or corner someone else.
  10. Get in the way by creating a distraction, drawing attention to the situation, or separating them.
  11. Understand that if someone does not or cannot consent to sex, it is rape.
  12. Never blame the victim.
  13. If you are a victim or survivor, or helping someone in that situation, go to notalone.gov to get the resources and information you need. You can also call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800-656-HOPE.
