We hope that your holidays were fun and safe, and that you are looking forward to a great 2016! We’re kicking the year off with some good news — you have asked, and we’ve answered. Beginning in August 2016, our parking rate will be lowered from $60 to $40 per month! This matches the lowest rate for parking in the market, and adjustments will be made to everyone’s account who has already renewed. For those who took advantage of our ½ off parking special, yours will remain $30 a month for the 2016–2017 lease term, giving you the best value!

You still have time to lock in these great rates by renewing your lease today. Remember, we are offering a $500 credit off your September rent to renew and a $250 refer-a-friend special. If you are currently residing in a four-bedroom unit and all of your roommates renew or you bring in new leases to fill the entire four-bedroom apartment, you each receive an additional $150. Offers are subject to change, please see office for details.



Maintenance Tips

Quarterly maintenance inspections have been completed for every unit in the facility. The maintenance team thanks you for your cooperation during the month of December. We are working hard to repair/replace any necessary items we see within your unit, but some items may have to be ordered. Due to this, it is possible reentry to your units will be needed in the month of January. Our team prides itself on being proactive and handling any and all of your requests in a timely manner. If you should have any questions regarding these inspections, feel free to contact our office.



Reminders & Updates

We are embarking on a new semester, and many new residents have joined us at The Depot. Welcome! For those of you who have been here since August, you may have received a new roommate. The office has notified current residents as roommates have been placed. If you have questions about this, please let us know.

As a reminder, you must escort your guests in the building, parking garage, and common spaces at all times. You are responsible for the behavior and actions of your guests and will incur any charges for damages. You are not permitted to provide a guest with your keys or fob to gain access to the parking garage, building, or your unit. Please refrain from allowing non-residents into the building as we must all work together to maintain peace of mind within our community.

We have been continuing to work hard to provide you the best possible living experience. If you should have any concerns related to your stay with us, please stop by the leasing office Monday–Friday from 10 a.m.–7p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.–5 p.m., or Sunday from noon–5 p.m. You may also contact us after hours at (234) 738-0080.



Turning Resolutions into Reality

Did you know that only 8% of people are successful in keeping their New Year’s resolutions? While that may sound discouraging, there are some very practical ways to beat the odds and see success this year! Whether you make New Year’s resolutions or are one of the 38% of Americans who absolutely never makes them, anyone will benefit from a commitment to continuous improvement. Here are some tips for a successful 2016 — and beyond:

Define your “why”: Whether your goal is to improve your GPA or get in better shape, create a “why” statement for any goal you have. Achieving goals can be challenging, so make sure you stay motivated by keeping the purpose in mind!

Write it down: According to numerous studies, the simple act of writing down your goals increases your likelihood of success significantly. When you write down your goals, make them specific and measurable, and put your goals somewhere you will see them.

Tell a friend: Another factor shown to increase your likelihood of success is telling a friend about your goals. You increase success even more when you share progress reports with them.

Take action: Always ask the simple and powerful question, “Is what I am doing getting me closer to where I want to be?” If the answer is yes, keep going! If no, try to make progress by taking even a small step in the right direction.

Enjoy the journey: Remember that much of the benefit of intentional improvement comes in the process, so take time to reflect, assess, and enjoy the journey!

Akron Zips Men’s Basketball Game — Tuesday, January 19

Kick off a new semester by joining The Depot at the men’s basketball game at the James A. Rhodes Arena. The first 500 attendees will receive Depot glow sticks to cheer on the team. The Depot will also be tabling with other freebies and will be participating in an on-court promotion.


Papa John’s Pizza Party — Wednesday, January 20 from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Stop by the leasing office for some delicious pizza and refreshing drinks!


Come in from Cold — Thursday, January 21 from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Grab a cup of hot cocoa and add your favorite toppings to stay warm at our hot chocolate bar in the leasing office.


Chili on the Go — Friday, January 22 from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
